Bigagnoli

For Alessio Bigagnoli, winemaking is the culmination of years of study, experimentation, and dedication. He began crafting small batches of wine in a garage while working as a wine analyst. In 2012, he bottled his first vintage, and soon after, his Bardolino Chiaretto Metodo Classico won the Genova Garage Wine Contest—an important validation that gave him the confidence to pursue winemaking full-time. That same year, Bigagnoli since 2012 was born.
Starting with a family-owned vineyard, Alessio has grown his operation to produce around 10,000 bottles (approximately 830 cases) annually from 3 hectares (~7.5 acres) of organically farmed vineyards in Calmasino, near the shores of Lake Garda, where he was born and raised. On these hilly, morainic soils, he cultivates Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, Garganega, and Oseleta—grape varieties native to the Bardolino wine region. In addition to wine, he produces olive oil for local restaurants and honey for personal use.
