Càlibri
The name Càlibri was created by combining Pietro Calvia and his wife Stefania Brianda’s last names; thus, sealing the will of two people, their values, and their passions. Calibri is also the Italian word for the measuring instruments calipers, evoking thoughts of precision, concreteness, and tradition. Together they own 4 hectares (~10 acres) of vineyards spread out over several parcels in the Gallura wine region of Sardegna. Pietro, who also raises sheep and farms oak trees cork, is responsible for the vineyard and cellar processes, while Stefania, who is a lawyer, takes care of the legal and administrative part of the business. They started in Berchidda in 2018 and currently produce 7,000 bottles (~680 cases) per year of Vermentino di Gallura DOCG and Rosso IGT Colli del Limbara. Pietro practices sustainable farming by respecting the land and local traditions ensuring the wines he makes reflect the territory.
