Davide Campagnano
After completing a degree in Agricultural Sciences, in 2017 Davide Campagnano opened a winery in Castel Campagnano, a pristine area near Caserta where Davide and his wife Enza chose to live as winemakers and farmers. Seeking greater use of natural microorganisms and respecting the territory and the biodiversity, they view the vineyards as part of an ecosystem where the vine is just one of the many species living in it. In addition to olive groves, they own 5 hectares (~12 acres) of vineyards where they grow Fiano, Pallagrello Nero, Pallagrello Bianco, Camaiola, Casavecchia, and a native grape variety saved from extinction, locally known as Pizzutiello but not yet officially recognized. Family, land, and wine represent the pillars of the company’s philosophy: the value of the peasant family sharing a passion; the territory which is the cradle for the project and in which they are investing their future; the Campagnano family’s four-generation tradition of making wine. The same values are incorporated in the logo, a stylized drawing of vine rows in the shape of the letter C (for Campagnano), S (for Santoro, Davide’s mother’s last name), the D (for Davide), integrating past and future.
