Le Banchette

Marco, Carlo, and Cristian are three friends who love wine. It all started in Marco’s garage located in Via Banchette in Fumane, in the Valpolicella wine region, with a few boxes of slightly dried grapes, a manual crusher destemmer, a steel tank, and two used oak barrels. While still working full-time, Marco and Carlo decided to study Viticultural and Oenological Sciences at night at the University of Verona. After lots of experiments, they felt it was time to give winemaking a serious try, so they moved to a much bigger space (a cellar of 645 sq. ft.) and had their official first bottling in 2017. They have 2.5 hectares (~6 acres) planted with the typical Valpolicella grapes: Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella from which they produce 7,000 bottles (~600 cases) of the four different Valpolicella DOC appellations, including the most famous Amarone.
