Le Calle
Le Calle farmhouse, located in Cinigiano in the heart of Maremma, lies between sea and mountains: from the cellar terrace you can see the Mediterranean Sea to the west and Monte Amiata to the east. Le Calle was simply named after the plot of land where the Catocci family rooted its origins as farmers and developed a solid expertise in agriculture from generation to generation. Since he was a little boy, the only thing Riccardo ever did was being a farmer. Together with his wife Savina, for over 30 years they have been running an organic closed-loop farm where in addition to winemaking, they are dedicated to grains and legumes cultivation, livestock breeding, olive oil production, and hospitality. The yearly production of 30,000 bottles (2,500 cases) comes from Ciliegiolo, Canaiolo, Vermentino, Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia grapes cultivated in the 7-hectare (~17.5 acres) vineyards. Savina and Riccardo welcome anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the tradition of ancient peasant civilization far from the noise of everyday life.
