Luigi Galeotti

The small family-run winery and farm in Rivalta di Reggio Emilia embodies craftmanship and simplicity. For two generations they have been bringing together tradition and modernity utilizing simple techniques and genuine products to grow vegetables and grapes and to make wine. Luigi Galeotti and
his wife Morena respect the land where they live by following the Integrated Crop Management approach which includes practices that avoid waste, enhance energy efficiency, and minimize pollution. They own a1.6-hectare (~4 acres) organic-certified vineyard where, alongside vines of Ancellotta, Lambrusco, Marzemino, Freisa, and Trebbiano, they planted rose bushes to help warn of Infesting parasites. The climatic conditions of the foothills allow the vegetative cycle of the vines to
occur optimally yielding small quantities of grapes, but of excellent quality. Local traditions are very Important to Luigi and Morena who still follow the practice of bottling the wine only when the moon is shining in the months of February and March. Their yearly production is about 15,000 bottles (~1,250 cases), but they also sell bulk wine to local customers.
